DirecTV FAQ
Where is the DIRECTV® dish installed?
DirecTV is installed in an open space, unblocked by trees.
What if I lived in an apartment or condominium, can I still get a DIRECTV®?
Yes! But first you have to your landlord, property manager or homeowners association if DirectTV is already installed in your building. If not, DirecTV system could be installed in your rooftop and if on the other hand you are not authorized to mount the dish on the roof or the side of the building, it could be installed on a private patio or balcony, provided that it has a clear view of the southern sky.
What will I get with standard professional installation?
A highly trained installer will do the installation of a dish on your roof, balcony or other location of up to 125 ft. of cable, 25 ft. of phone line, drilling through one wall connecting your receiver to your TV and VCR or DVD player.
Will I be able to use my existing wiring in my house with the DIRECTV System?
In most cases, it could still be used, you can verify it with the person in charge of your installation.
Is possible to use just one DIRECTV dish for the whole house?
Yes. Majority of DirecTV customers only need one dish, regardless of the number of receivers/rooms hooked into it. Though there are very few selected countries that require additional dish depending on the customer’s programming choices.
How long will it take to get my equipment?
The equipment will arrived on the day of the installation delivered by the person in-charge of the installation. Usually it take about 24-72 hours when the order was placed.
What happens when I move?
You just need to phone-in DirecTV before you move. You will have to leave the DirectTV dish behind and take your existing receiver and remotes with you when you move. DirecTV Movers ConnectionTM program will install a new dish and provide a standard professional installation free for qualifying customers.*
